    Hello Aishwarya,

With over 7 years of work experience in hand, I doubt if a Masters in finance has much to offer to benefit your profile or knowledge domain, provided you have seen substantial growth in the work place.

I would instead recommend you opt for a Management degree, perhaps specifically in finance and consider to climb the ladder of the administrative and management profiles. Now if this interests you, please note a good number of US universities accept 15 years of formal education instead of the 16 provided you meet with the other eligibility criteria and admission requirements like decent scores on the test takes (GMAT & TOEFL), focused statement of purpose and supportive reference letters etc. as per the requirements of the university.

Think well on the above stated and get back with your decision so that we can guide you further.

    Take care!

(canada) does co-op programs waste your study terms?…like would you get an engineering degree in double the time as compared to the non co-op, study only programs?…a friend of mine at carleton, says like he will manage to get “11 credits” a year and next year he’ll get transferred straight to the third year from the first year…like one year skip…is it possible in co-ops and non co-ops alike??…and if yes, how can we do it?plus would skipping a year(getting transferred to a year above) would skip all of the tution fees of that year as well?

    thanks in advance:)

    Hello,

Today, Germany is all geared to welcome international applicants and has initiated changes and ease to encourage international applicants. Some facts about education in Germany make the system stand out of the crowd. Off the many consider the following advantages of pursuing MS in germany :

    Technology:

Germany is known for its technological innovation. Be in any discipline of engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical etc.) German companies are just on the top of the list not only nationally but also internationally.

    Top Ranking universities:

Many of the technical universities such as TU Darmstadt, TU Karlsruhe, RWTH Aachen etc., rank very high in the list of ‘World ranking for the best technical institutes’. The German universities maintain very high standards in terms of reputation and international acclaim.

    Course Duration:

If you closely look at the education system in Germany, it is split into "practical oriented" study and "industry oriented" study for a 3 semester Masters course (1.5 years). The technical institutes also offer a 4 semester Masters course (2 years). This is a huge advantage to people who would want to complete their Masters as soon as possible and head directly to the German industry to work.

    Strategic University Locations:

If you consider the location of the German universities, they are usually located in such strategic locations where the industry concentration predominant and the research hubs are easily reachable. This enables the industry-university interaction grow further and eventually to make the learning environment bidirectional. Eventually, it also helps the students who look for jobs after their Master Degree to stay and work in the same city.

    Subsidized Tuition Fee:

When it comes to finances, one of the major advantage of studying in Germany is the ‘highly subsidized tuition fee’. However, in the recent days the universities have started to charge a very nominal tuition fee (which ranges from 200 to 600 euros per semester) in order to improvise the existing facilities and provide much better quality education but sound scholarship are offered via DAAD.

You may consider the following universities :

    Technical University Munchen
    Technische University Chemnitz
    Technische Universitat Hamburg

I hope the above stated satisfies with all your queries. Do get back to us for further guidelines.

    Take care!

    Hello,

As per the information imparted by DAAD, international students need to be able to prove that they have at least 643 euros per month available to them. That amounts to 7,716 euros per academic year.

The cost of living in Germany is quite high in comparison with many countries in Asia, Africa or Latin America. Tuition fees used to be unknown in Germany. But the situation has changed over recent years. Initially, fees were introduced for long-term students, visiting students (i.e. from other universities) and for participants of postgraduate and Master's programs. Tuition can amount to between 650 and several thousand euros per semester. Students also have to pay the semester fee for each semester.

Apart form the tuition always account for these costs
    • The semester fee (once per semester)
    • Expenses for study materials and excursions (as needed)
    • Health insurance contributions (monthly)
    • Tuition fees (once per semester: not at all universities and not in all programs).

However, whether you have to pay fees or not depends entirely on which federal state and at which university you are studying. Contact your chosen university directly to find out whether they charge tuition fees.

Costs that you will certainly have to pay each semester are the semester contribution and the health insurance premiums (around 280 euros). At some universities, this sum includes a Semesterticket. This allows you to use local public transport in and around your university town without any extra costs.

For further queries do get back to us.

    Take care.

    Hello,

As per the information provided, please find below the assessment of your profile against the requirements of the universities :

    University of Florida :
The chances are tough since at an average the accepted GRE scores vary from 550-560 for the verbal and 760-780 for the quantitative sections. Also, GRE subject test though not mandatory is highly recommended. The TOEFL requirements are also to the higher side, a 250 at computer-based and 95 at internet-based.

    Virginia Tech Blacksburg :
The chances are not very bright in Virginia Tech as the intake of international candidates is very small and is hence highly competitive. Subject GRE (Computer Science) is required thus making it highly competitive for your profile.

    University of Pittsburgh :
Though a specific minimum requirement for the standardized tests have not been specified, in general and from past experience the university is highly competitive and has taken the cream of students. A GPA below 3.0 on the scale of 4 makes competition even tough for you.

    University at Buffaloâ€"SUNY :
Though subject GRE is highly recommended you seem to have brighter chances getting through the university in lieu of your GRE scores that have been accepted gracefully by the university. However, considering the GPA of 2.94, I would say the university is reachable not a safe school in your list.

    Indiana Universityâ€"Bloomington
They specifically have a cut of for the TOEFL with a minimum score of 100 on the Internet-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, or approximately 600 on the paper-based test, or a score of 6.5 on the IELTS. However, since you already have background of Computer Science in your Bachelors the school should be reachable since they do not require a bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, or a related field, but with a background in key areas.

    Auburn University
Despite a low GPA against the requirement of 3.0 on the scale of 4, this should be the safest school for you in the list of the specified schools in lieu of your higher GRE scores against the required figure of 1000. Subject GRE is not required and the specified TOEFL scores sound reachable (79 on iBT)

    Good luck!
