It seems the wait for lakh of aspirants is finally over as the
CBSE declared the results of All India
Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) on
Sunday. This year, 11.14 lakh students had registered for the
engineering exam while 10.5 lakh students finally appeared for
it.
This was the first time that the exam was introduced in the
Online format. However, most students had preferred to stick with
the old pen-and-paper format. This time the paper was also delayed
due to reports that the paper was leaked in some parts of Uttar
Pradesh.
Like always, this time too the top rank holders in the recently
announced IIT-JEE results grabbed the highest ranks in AIEEE. However, these toppers are aspiring for the
prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology over NITs.
Speaking about his preference to the media, Kshitiz Singh, who
stood 3rd in overall AIEEE results, is
not even thinking of taking admission in any of the NITs. He has
secured 48th AIR rank in IITs and is
eyeing IIT Delhi or Kanpur. He feels that
IITs give better exposure to a student.
As per reports, general category students with at least 48 marks
are eligible to fill in choices for online counselling for BE/BTech
and BArch/B Planning to be conducted by CBSE.
