WBJEE 2013 is required for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Medical, Dental courses in colleges in West Bengal and B.Arch Course in Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University. In 2013 WBJEE examination candidates need to appear in 3 (three) papers in the form of written test to be conducted physically at various Examination Centres with Pen and Paper i.e. as OFFLINE. Candidates need to pass 3 papers which will be : i) Mathematics, ii) Physics & iii) Chemistry.
After obtaining and filling the WBJEE application form, candidate has to be sent it by Speed Post. The important dates regarding WBJEE 2013 are as follows:
*Online form Submission will start from 11th January, 2013 &
Last date is 16th Feb, 2013
*Fee payment through Allahabad Bank / India Post Office by e-Challan wil start at 11th Jan. 2013 & last date is 19th feb, 2013
*Generation of Confirmation Page & Top sheet starts from 11th January, 2013 till 21st Feb, 2013
*Date of receipt of SINGLE ENVELOPE containing: duly filled-in Confirmation Page starts from 11th Jan 2013 & Last date is 28th feb,2013
*Status of receipt and disposal of Application Form start from 1st March 2013 till 31st March 2013
WBJEE Exam Date 2012: 15th April, 2012
Candidates need to fill online application at http://www.wbjeeb.nic.in After filling up personal details, the system will generate a unique 7-digit numeric APPLICATION NUMBER which will be used for Printing of e-Challan for Bank or Post Office, Entering e-Challan details after payment of fees, Printing of the Confirmation Page as well as Top Sheet of enclosures .
The candidates aspiring to get admission can obtain WBJEE application form by post or designated branches of United Bank of India. The last date for receipt of completed WBJEE forms by speed post is 12 January 2012. The candidates are selected on the basis of a Joint Entrance Examination which is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.
WBJEE Exam is scheduled to be held on 21st April, 2013. There are four papers in WBJEE Exam:
Biology (100 Marks)
Mathematics (100 Marks)
Physics (50 Marks)
Chemistry (50 Marks)
Candidates seeking WBJEE admission to Engineering/Architecture courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Paper. Candidates seeking admission to Medical and Dental courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology Paper. Those who wish to apply for Pharmacy course have to appear for Biology or Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry course. Students are advised to visit the official WBJEE website for information regarding WBJEE syllabus, WBJEE sample papers, WBJEE admission etc.
To be eligible for WBJEE 2013, candidate must be 17 years of age or above as on 31 December 2013. However, there is no upper age limit except for admission to Marine Engineering Course. The upper age limit for Marine Engineering Course is 25 years as on 31 July 2013. A candidate must pass10+2 or equivalent examination and secured atleast 50% (40% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology for admission to Engineering/Technology courses and a pass in English & fifth subject. Those who will be appearing for class 12th exams in 2013 may also apply.
There are also certain residential requirements and certificates that are required from competent authorities in WBJEE 2013 Eligibility Criteria.
For admission to Government Engineering, Medical, Dental Colleges and to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, candidates must have been living in the State of West Bengal continuously for minimum last 10 years as on 31 December 2012 or the parents of the candidates must be permanent resident of the West Bengal with the permanent home address of West Bengal.
