All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2012 is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI). The aspirants seeking admission in one of the top IITs, NITs or state level engineering colleges or institutes appear in this test. The admission in these prestigious colleges and institutes depends upon the ranking secured by the particular candidate in the AIEEE. Those students, who clear this exam and secure a good All India Ranking get admission call or counselling call from these renowned colleges.
From last year onwards the students can take this AIEEE exam online too. Last year one lakh students appeared in this AIEEE entrance exam online across the country. The students can take this exam on both modes online and offline as per their ease. The exam is conducted for BE/B. Tech courses in all IITs/NITs and other engineering institutes. The AIEEE exam ranking is also accepted by all the recognised engineering colleges across the country.
AIEEE 2012 Exam Pattern:
BE/B.Tech: AIEEE exam duration is of 3 hours. The pattern of the exam is objective type. The objective questions are being asked from Class XI and XII Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Equal weightage is given to all the subjects. Each question has four options and students have to choose the right option among the available. There is negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer.
B.Arch/B. Planning: The duration of this exam will be of 3 hours having three sections: Mathematics, Aptitude test and Drawing test. In this exam Mathematics and Aptitude test will have objective type of questions, however, drawing test will have questions to check the drawing abilities and aptitude of the aspirants.
The exam is designed to test the abilities, skills, creativity, awareness and observation of the candidates.
